# Pro Tips:

01 -
  • Everything comes together in about half an hour, and most of that is just waiting for the salmon to soak up flavor.
  • You can swap, add, or skip toppings based on what's actually in your fridge without ruining anything.
  • The mix of creamy avocado, spicy chili oil, and crunchy peanuts makes every bite feel a little different.
  • It looks impressive enough to serve guests but requires almost no actual cooking skill.
02 -
  • Don't skip marinating the salmon, even ten minutes makes the fish taste like it belongs in the bowl instead of just sitting on top of it.
  • Season the rice while it's still warm so the vinegar mixture soaks in, cold rice won't absorb the flavor the same way.
  • If your avocado is too firm, it won't slice cleanly, and if it's too ripe, it'll turn to mush when you try to fan it out.
03 -
  • Toast your sesame seeds in a dry pan over medium heat for about a minute, they'll smell nutty and taste twice as good.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the nori, dull scissors will tear it and leave jagged edges that don't look as clean.
  • If you want the salmon cooked, sear it in a hot pan for two minutes per side after marinating, it'll get a caramelized crust that's incredible.
