Crispy Garlic Lumpia Chips (Print)

Thin, crunchy lumpia wrappers coated with garlic oil and air-fried until golden and crisp.

# Ingredients:

→ Lumpia Wrapper

01 - 10 lumpia (spring roll) wrappers

→ Garlic & Oil

02 - 3 tablespoons neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
03 - 4 large garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
02 - Stack the lumpia wrappers and slice into thin strips or triangles approximately 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide.
03 - Heat the oil gently in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
04 - Place the sliced wrappers in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with garlic-infused oil, season with sea salt and black pepper, and toss gently to coat evenly.
05 - Arrange coated wrappers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
06 - Air-fry for 5 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chips are golden brown and crisp.
07 - Remove the chips from the air fryer and transfer to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
08 - Optionally garnish with chopped parsley or chives. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

# Pro Tips:

01 -
  • They take less time than waiting for takeout and use ingredients you probably already have.
  • The garlic gets sweet and mellow in the oil, coating every piece with flavor that sticks.
  • Theyre so light and crispy you can eat them by the handful without feeling heavy.
  • You can season them however you like, mild or spicy, and theyll still disappear fast.
02 -
  • Dont skip the preheat or the wrappers will cook unevenly and some will stay chewy.
  • If the garlic burns even a little, it turns bitter and ruins the whole batch, so keep the heat low.
  • Let the chips cool completely before storing or theyll soften from trapped steam.
03 -
  • Cut the wrappers while theyre still cold from the package, they slice cleaner and dont tear as easily.
  • Shake the basket more than you think you need to, it keeps the chips from sticking and browning unevenly.
  • Taste one chip from the first batch and adjust the salt or garlic before you finish the rest.
