# Ingredients:
→ Cheese & Dairy
01 - 3.5 oz goat cheese, softened
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
→ Pantry
03 - 4 slices rustic sourdough or artisan bread
04 - 3 tablespoons fig jam
→ Optional Additions
05 - 1 handful fresh arugula (optional)
06 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
# Instructions:
01 - Spread a thin, even layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Flip the bread slices over. Evenly spread half the goat cheese on the unbuttered side of two slices.
03 - Gently spread fig jam over the goat cheese-covered bread, ensuring thorough coverage.
04 - Top with a handful of fresh arugula and black pepper if desired.
05 - Cover with remaining bread slices, keeping the buttered sides facing outward to form two sandwiches.
06 - Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low. Grill each sandwich for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently until bread is golden brown and cheese is warmed through.
07 - Take sandwiches off the heat. Allow to rest for 1 minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
