Recipe Q&A
- → How do I get the fries extra crispy?
Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking, then dry thoroughly. This removes excess starch for crisper fries.
- → What’s the best steak cut for this dish?
Ribeye or sirloin steaks work well due to their balance of tenderness and flavor. Strip steak or filet mignon can also be used.
- → Can I prepare the garlic butter ahead of time?
Yes, mixing the butter with garlic, herbs, and lemon juice ahead allows flavors to meld. Chill until ready to serve.
- → How should steaks be cooked for best results?
Heat a heavy skillet over high heat and sear steaks for 2–3 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for preferred doneness.
- → Is this dish gluten-free?
The dish is gluten-free if fries are prepared without flour and avoiding cross-contamination in oil and surfaces.
